We have no complaints whatsoever.
The staff were very friendly and courteous ( far more so than other hotels ), We found the food and service in the restaurant excellent. The bedroom was really lovely and my wife and I commented that it was the nicest hotel bed we have ever slept in ! The hotel itself oozes character and the ambience is almost tangible !
Allied to this, the village of Adare and its surrounds are beautiful.
There is absolutely no doubt but that we will return here and spend more than one night.

This was my first time staying in Dunraven arms and I was not disapointed. We were lucky enough to be ungraded to a junior suite and what a lovely treat.
On arrival we were greeted by Gillian on reception who was so helpful and friendly an asset to any company.
Our room was beautiful, four poster bed, sofa, a fireplace and large windows overlooking the gardens. The bed was particularly comfortable.
The only downside was breakfast, buffet style and the scrambled eggs were not attractive looking and there was no option for fried eggs, plus the toasting machine merely warmed the bed and didn't colour it.
Still a lovely hotel, good atmosphere and on the main street of Adare

"Not very child friendly, there is a notice going into the bar that children were not welcome after 6pm."

We stayed in room 5 in this hotel and I think we must have been sent to the "cheap" rooms as the one we stayed in was not what we expected according to the rave reviews that are on trip advisor.
A sign going into the bar stated that children were not allowed in the bar after 6pm, "YES 6PM." which we duly took on board and had to bring ourselves to another establishment to spend our money there.
I cannot really comment on service etc. as we had no choice but to spend as little time as possible here.

I'm not a complainer at all and would not usually complain but I felt that I needed to write a review on this hotel because I chose this hotel based on the reviews on this site and was quite disappointed with our stay. I just wanted to write about our experiences. Myself and partner (late 20s) brought his parents (early 70s) away for a night.
Check-In - very easy with a friendly receptionist- package was 140euro per room including dinner and breakfast
Bedrooms - lovely and big with nice views of the garden.
Dinner - TERRIBLE experience! Waited for 50mins for our starter and I was given the smallest piece of salmon roulade I had ever seen!!! Considering the reviews I had read about the food here I was looking forward to the experience. The waiting staff were run off their feet ... literally....running in the dining area and banging in and out of the kitchen doors. Unfortunately we were sitting beside the kitchen and so the chaos of the waiters running in and out spoiled the atmosphere a little - especially when we were waiting so long! Definitely request a table as far away as possible from the kitchen doors. The main course of beef carved in front of you was very average and to be honest a pub carvery would equal it. The overall atmosphere of the dining room was poor, with waiters running everywhere and very average food. I would recommend eating outside the hotel in the quaint cottage restaurants that provide an overall dining experience with food and ambience and avoiding dinner here.
Breakfast - too cramped - all hot food is on one small round table. The hotel was busy and there was not enough food or space for the food. One man said he had been waiting for bacon for nearly half an hour!
Leisure Centre - swimming pool is a good size but the area could be brightened up and modernised.
Overall this is just a very average hotel. It's a pity because it has so much potential - while waiting to check out we had been charged double the amount for dinner but this was solved easily - however a little annoying considering the experience we had at dinner. The owner of the hotel was walking around but didn't say hello to one guest - he had his head down and was busying himself! However the receptionist was friendly and helpful.
I know I said I'm not a complainer and I have complained here but I just wanted to let people know not to expect too much if they stay here. I was expecting a lot based on the reviews here and I was a disappointed.
